TCG Condition Guide

Standard grading terms used across Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, and other trading card games.

Reminder: Condition is seller-declared. Buyers should verify photos before payment.

M

Mint

Pack-fresh, flawless. Sharp 90/10 corners, perfectly centered, glossy surface, no whitening, scratches, or print defects. Often only achievable straight from a sealed pack.

NM

Near Mint

Looks unplayed under normal light. May have minor wear: tiny edge nicks, very light surface scuff, or slight centering. No creases, no major whitening. Most singles trade at this grade.

LP

Lightly Played

Minor wear visible on close inspection: light edge whitening, small scratches, soft corners, or light scuffs. Still tournament-playable in sleeves with no creases or bends.

MP

Moderately Played

Obvious wear: noticeable whitening on edges/corners, surface scratches, light scuffing, or minor border wear. May have a very light bend but no creases through the card face.

HP

Heavily Played

Major wear: heavy whitening, creases, deep scratches, water marks, or significant surface damage. Card is intact and identifiable but visibly damaged.

DMG

Damaged

Severe damage: tears, holes, heavy creasing, ink/water damage, writing, or pieces missing. Often only valuable as a playset filler or for casual play.

Slabbed/graded cards (PSA, BGS, CGC, etc.) use numeric grades and should be listed under the Slab category.
